“Breaking financial barriers in healthcare accessibility through telehealth.”
One of the main challenges currently faced in healthcare is access to great quality and affordable services. A great portion of the global population is unable to access simple healthcare services due to their bad financial situation, and another one is pushed into poverty after paying for it. In addition to this, people in remote areas do not often have access to basic healthcare services. To face this health crisis, telehealth is being implanted in several regions worldwide to lower the cost of service delivery, overcome the shortage of healthcare employees, and reach remote places.
Countries like Kenya and South Africa are reporting positive responses to the implementation of telehealth systems. Patients are being taken care of without having to travel far from home, researchers are receiving a significant amount of data in real-time to advance studies, and healthcare workers from different places can share or gain knowledge from each other.
